Liverpool 2018 – Events Not to be Missed!

2018 marks the 10 year anniversary of Liverpool being named European Capital of Culture. Why not visit the city in this celebratory year, there are various events being held in the northern city this year from wine to pride festivals.

Bordeaux Wine Festival:

Friday 25th May – Monday 28th May 2018.

Bordeaux Wine Festival is a celebrated event and it’s coming to Liverpool in May.

Are you a lover of wine? This sounds perfect for you!

Not only does this festival offer French wine, but a whole variety of French food for all you foodies out there.

This event is located on the Liverpool waterfront, and is in walking distance of several of our apartments. Scroll to the bottom to find our central apartments.

Three Festivals Tall Ships Regatta:

Friday 25th May – Monday 28th May 2018

On the same weekend as the Wine Festival is the Three Festivals Tall Ship Regatta which links three lively port cities: Liverpool, Dublin and Bordeaux in a race across the Irish Sea and the Bay of Biscay. This major event begins here, in Liverpool.

The regatta is located at Pier Head with easy access from many of our apartments. We offer a wonderful range of accommodation and they can all be viewed on our Airbnb and you can find links located at the bottom of this blog post.

Liverpool International Music Festival 2018

Friday 21th July – Sunday 22nd July 2018

An event not to miss is the unforgettable Liverpool International Music Festival that takes over much of Sefton Park each year. You can watch big names, local and up and coming talent on the stage this July. Keep updated on artists as they are being revealed on their social media.

The organisers promise 2018 is going to be the biggest and best they’ve put on so far!

Liverpool Pride 2018

28th Saturday July – 29th Sunday July 2018

Late July hosts the fantastic Liverpool Pride in the city centre. In 2017 the Pride event reached its largest gathering the city has ever seen, and 2018 is only hoping to smash that!

The event has performances from artists to an incredible loving march around the city in celebration of the LGBT community, which you can be part of!

Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool Marathon and Half Marathon

Saturday 19th May – Sunday 20th May 2018

Enjoy running? Are you training for a Marathon? Why don’t you sign up to one of these events in Liverpool in the second half of May with Run Rock and Roll (Liverpool).

Liverpool Sound City

Saturday 5th May –Sunday 6th May

Liverpool Sound City is an annual music festival, and this year it’s being held on the early May bank holiday at Baltic Triangle and Cains Brewery.

The festival will kick off this years UK summer festivals. Current released artists are: DMAs, Peace, The Slow Readers Club, Sunset Sons, Baxter Dury, Idles, The Night Café, Picture This, Dermot Kennedy, Jaws, Superorganism, Black Honey, Wye Oak and Yellow Days. Clipper Race Finish

Saturday 28th July– 29th Sunday July 2018

The Clipper Race has been described as “one of the biggest challenges of the natural world and an endurance test like no other”.

This sailing race needs no previous experience, and it’s a record-breaking 40,000 mile race around the world. The race is split into 8 legs and 13-16 individual races. This race is returning to the Albert Dock in July this year.

The Clothes Show

Friday 19th October -21st Sunday October 2018

The famous Clothes Show is returning to Liverpool from the 19th-21st of October 2018. This three-day event will be bringing a new line up of fashion, beauty, designer catwalks, and industry experts to the city. The event will feature live music acts, dancers and models.

The Clothes Show is the place to be to see all the up and coming Autumn/Winter trends.
